i like uw-crew.com the best. they have a HUGE amount of posts, and u can solve pretty much anything through using the "search" button lol.
lol almost... just not the wowemu.key
that never happens to me for some reason
Question: why would an ordinary noob like myself need all this stuff? isnt this for setting up a server?
yes this is, lol its just that he doesnt wanna set up another site just for the repack
ive done everything according to the guide here, can connect and play on ghmac.no-ip.org.
but.. when i set the realmlists to 127.0.0.1 and the wowemu key to the same, server window tells me that it found my account(made with the db tool)..
when i try to login, but the client seems to hang when it "aouthorize"..10-40sec
notthing happens and then it just says it cant connect
what can be wrong?
set the realmlists to your internal IP, ie if you have a router it would be 192.168.xxx.xxx, or if you only have one computer go to whatismyip.org and set it to that, also make sure your wowemu.key is set up with the same ip as in your realmlists
why do i need to do this when i only want a offline server, just playing alone on the server?
i dont want it to be public or anything.. its just for my own use..
if your having trouble with that, edit the "hosts" file with notepad and add this line:
| CODE |
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 wad.eclub.lv |
ps its located in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc"
ps its the: 127.0.0.1 wad.eclub.lv line
that should allow you to play privately.
X.P pro has an issue with this, had the same problem with a server, even tho is was local it wouldnt allow me to connect with out the external ip, I couldnt even connect with my internal or localhost, it was really weird, but when I switched over to Server 2003 it worked fine
btw I had to put a . in the x p for it to work with out makeing a face
i edited the host file you said.. but still i got the same issue
server window:
20:55:59:M:RS9:Incoming connection from [127.0.0.1:2616]
20:55:59:M:RS9:[127.0.0.1:2616] CMD_AUTH_LOGON_CHALLENGE [CHAD] version [4784enG
B]
20:55:59:M:RS9:[127.0.0.1:2616] Account found [CHAD]
20:55:59:M:RS9:DEBUG: total connections 1
20:57:30:M:RS9:Connection from [127.0.0.1:2616] closed
and the client never gets past the "authenticating"..
EDIT: and im using WinXP SP2
humm, dont worry its not X.P its actualy letting you connect, marc you have an idea?
nope...ill think about that....
